This Lonely Room

I don’t disagree, with your answers
It’s just these questions, won’t go, away
The harder I look for you
The more emptiness I find

I already know what I’m trying to learn
But it feels so cheap to settle for this
Peeling back the layers only opens up holes
And that is when my doubts take hold

Yet outside this lonely room
There’s a light shining on me
I can feel it sometimes, when I stop and wait

And I wonder if it’s you…

Do you think, it’s a lapse of judgment?
To just go, with the flow, and accept it all
The words they say you spoke
Don’t speak to me at all, anymore

To kill them all and take their land
Or to love, forgive and lend a hand
Why do your words support these wars?
While your own son rejected force

Yet outside this lonely room
There’s a light shining on me
I can feel it sometimes, when I stop and wait
And I wonder if it’s you…

My questions, may never get an answer
And sometimes, I’m okay with that
‘Cause if I could prove you exist
What choice would I be left with?

Yet outside this lonely room
There’s a light shining on me
I can feel it sometimes, when I stop and wait
And I wonder if it’s you…

Incredibly insightful into the mind of one who is searching for "God" The idea of "God" as an actual being of pure spiritual light has been debated and proposed since man first started questioning his own existence. Historical and religious texts fail to offer substantial truth as to the existence of a God. Every religion offers their own path to "God" and Heaven and claim that belief in their particular religion is the only way to obtain enlightenment and or entry into Heaven. Many people who question the very existence of "God" are branded atheists or devil worshipers. The is very offensive to those of us who find fulfillment and spiritual guidance without attaching ourselves to a religion. One must understand their own thoughts and beliefs before accepting those of others. Critical thinking and investigation will help unfold the accepted myths of creation and miracles. We are all spiritual beings and we can all find our own way to enjoy "God" in all his forms. I applaud Mike for his deep insight and his continued quest to find "God" in his own way.
